Check out these amazing ready-to-go resources you can use with your child to engage in math over the summer! Activities within this resource are both plugged (digital) and unplugged (no device needed).

The β€œBingo Board” of resources for each grade level (K-5) could be printed and the child could select a new activity to do each day and β€œX” it out when they are finished. Any links to PDFs would also need to be printed, but the activities are designed to be able to be completed without using a computing device.

At the end of the K-5 activities are a page of game ideas to play with your K-2 and/or 3-5 child to build mathematical skills.

Happy computing (and happy summer)! 🧠πŸ’ͺ

Reading over the summer is a great way to keep your brain active, prevent the "summer slide," and relax on a sunny afternoon. It builds vocabulary, enhances imagination, and keeps literacy skills sharp for the upcoming school year. πŸ“–

From the article "10 Reading Tips for Families" by Tracy Donohue from the Iowa Reading Research Website, here is one tip to add reading into your summer routine:

Tip 1: Read and Talk Every Day
Reading and talking with your child every day helps build language skills and improves his chance for academic success.

Example: Set aside 15-20 minutes a day for reading and talking with your child. Bedtime is a great time to get snuggly with a good book to read and discuss. Committing to reading and talking every day shows your child that reading is a priority.

Happy summer and happy reading! πŸ“š
