This week, we celebrate the dedication, compassion, and sacrifice of our EMS providers during EMS Week.

To the members of our department who answer the calls day and night — thank you. Thank you for the long hours, the missed family time, the calm in chaotic moments, and the care you provide to our community every single day.

Whether responding to emergencies, providing lifesaving treatment, supporting patients and families, or standing ready for the next call, your commitment does not go unnoticed.

We also want to thank the surrounding EMS agencies and partners we work alongside on calls and responses throughout the year — your teamwork, professionalism, and support help make our communities safer every day.

We are proud to serve alongside such hardworking and selfless individuals. Thank you for everything you do for our department and our community.

May 5, 2026

Highway 92 Pavement Re-Striping Project to Begin May 6th

The re-striping of Highway 92 in Washington will soon begin. When the project is complete, Hwy 92 will be a three-lane highway that will begin at the east City limits and extend to the
intersection of Hwy 1 and Madison Street.

Contractors plan to start work on the project at 6pm on Wednesday May 6th and continue from 6pm-6am daily until completed. The project is expected to be completed within seven working days, weather permitting.

Traffic is urged to use caution in the work zone while this project is being completed.

The work zone for this project will be Hwy 92 between Madison Street and Washington Street and Washington Street from 2nd Avenue to the east City limits (near Wal-Mart).
