Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance provides Emergency Medical Services to the Town of Blooming Grove, Village of Washingtonville, Village of South Blooming Grove, and the Town of Hamptonburgh.

Blooming Grove Ambulance joined the Washingtonville Fire Department on a Motor Vehicle Accident Extrication drill at Woodcock Auto Body.

Both agencies worked great together and learned a lot from this training exercise. We hope to do more trainings together in the future.

On July 19th, 2026, at approximately 0420 hours, Blooming Grove Ambulance Corps was dispatched to a residence on Brian Court in the Town of Blooming Grove for a structure fire standby.

493 Medic and Ambulance 498 responded to support standby and rehab operations. Crews remained on scene to ensure the safety and well-being of first responders.

This month for our Member Spotlight, we’re proud to spotlight EMT Elizabeth Wakeham.

Liz has been an EMT for the past year and a half after beginning her volunteer journey with Blooming Grove Ambulance Corps the summer before her junior year of high school. Inspired by her father’s career in law enforcement, she discovered a passion for helping others and found her place in the medical field.

During her senior year, Liz completed EMT school while balancing her studies and is now preparing to enter her sophomore year at Siena University as a nursing major. She loves the unpredictability of EMS and values every opportunity to learn while making a difference in the lives of her patients.

Liz is thankful for the support and mentorship she has received from her fellow members at Blooming Grove Ambulance Corps. In 2025, she was honored as both the Orange County EMS Youth Provider of the Year and the New York State Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Association Youth Provider of the Year.

Outside of EMS, Liz enjoys fishing, going to the gym, spending time with family and friends, and being outdoors. She looks forward to beginning her nursing clinicals this fall, continuing her career in EMS, and one day becoming a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner.

Thank you, Liz, for your dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving our community. We are proud to have you as part of the Blooming Grove Ambulance Corps family!

Blooming Grove Ambulance Corps was proud to provide EMS coverage for tonight’s fireworks celebration at L Vern Allen Park in the Village of Washingtonville.

Ambulance 497, Ambulance 495, 491 Medic, and 492 Medic were on standby throughout the event. Thank you to all of our BGVAC staff who helped staff two ambulances, a cooling station, and a first aid tent. 🚑🎇

A special thank you to the Ma*****na Farm of NY for generously lending us two swamp coolers to help keep our cooling station comfortable throughout the evening. We’d also like to thank the Washingtonville DPW for transporting them and the Washingtonville Fire Department for filling them with water. Your support is greatly appreciated!

We also extend our appreciation to New Windsor Emergency Medical Services and Town of Newburgh Emergency Medical Services for lending additional generators and cooling supplies. The support from our neighboring agencies and community partners helped make this event a success. Thank you all for your continued partnership and support!
