At the 12th Annual Learn Here Heroes event, Washougal's own Kenneth Kulk and Brittney Johnson were recognized alongside honorees from regional K-12 districts, Clark College, WSU Vancouver, and statewide institutions. Hosted by Identity Clark County, the annual event celebrates the exceptional educators, volunteers, staff, and community leaders who strengthen the local educational system and help students build bright futures.

WHS Students in the Advanced Culinary Art class are serving up meals to fellow students as their final class project, called “We Show Up Wednesdays.” During these events, the Shoug Shack will be parked outside the school and serving up free food and drinks to the WHS community. The Shoug Shack is a real-world, student-run food truck, where students combine entrepreneurship skills and culinary arts, along with menu planning, food preparation, and customer service skills in a fast paced environment.

The Shoug Shack team will be out in the community serving up great food this summer. They will be at the Pendleton Woolen Mills on Tuesday 6/9 for a Vancouver Chamber of Commerce event, then at Hathaway Park for the Port and City of Washougal’s America 250 event on July 4th serving hot dogs. Finally, the students will be serving hot dogs at the Wheels & Wings event on August 27 2026.
