Sundogs come meet your teacher and drop-off those school supplies at our Open House on Monday, August 10th from 4:00-5:30pm.

Families can see their students' assigned teacher via ParentVue prior to Open House on Monday.

*Incoming Kindergarten students won't have an assigned teacher yet, but they are welcome to come meet the kindergarten team!

Traffic Flow & Parking at Open House:
Lot's of road construction happened over the summer. Please be aware of the new traffic flow. Parking will be tight at Open House. If the parking lot fills up, the drop-off/pick-up loop, indicated by the red arrows (inside lane) may be utilized for overflow parking. The outside (left) lane shall remain open for through traffic. See the map below for reference.

We're excited to invite former Sundogs back to Shaw for one last walkthrough to ‘Who Let the Dogs out’, and to have an opportunity to reminisce with their peers about the good ole days and be celebrated by the current Sundogs.

All MSBSD regions are open today, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, and transportation services are operating.

Some areas received 5 to 7 inches of snow, and road crews and facilities teams are continuing snow removal efforts.

Please allow extra time, expect possible delays, and drive carefully.

MSBSD School Closure Update for Monday, December 8

MSBSD Regions 1–5 and Region 7 will be closed on Monday, December 8, 2025 due to high wind, the forecast, and electrical outages. All activities in these regions are canceled.

Region 6 — Su-Valley, Talkeetna, Trapper Creek, and Willow — will operate on a normal schedule with transportation. Any changes to Region 6 transportation or school operations will be communicated in the morning.

If you haven't signed up for Parent Square yet, please do so! This is how we will be sending communicating with families. Parents should have received an invitation by email or text with simple directions to set up your account.

We’re excited to be moving to ParentSquare — a tool that makes communication easier for parents and students.

Starting July 1, all Mat-Su Borough School District communication will be sent through ParentSquare. This includes messages about sports, classrooms, schools, and the District — all in one place.

ParentSquare will replace Blackboard, Remind, ClassDojo, SportsYou, and other tools currently used for communication — helping simplify and streamline how we stay connected.

With ParentSquare, you can:
✅ Get updates by email, text, or app
✅ View school calendars and RSVP for events
✅ Sign up to volunteer or bring items

Note: ParentSquare will not replace Synergy ParentVUE, which will still be used for grades, attendance, and student records.

Parents and students will receive an invitation by email or text with simple directions to set up your account soon.
