Today is the day. There is either a contract awarded and a post office will reopen in the same location or..... The building owner gave USPS until today. I "heard" it was awarded and USPS is getting ready to reopen Knik Cpu...

To all of Settler's Bay Mail Service customers...

I have been asked repeatedly when we are opening.

The most recent news I have been given is "it is still in the review process in Colorado".

I have also been told by the landlord of the building he might give a letter of intent to rent the post office space due USPS taking so long to approve my CMRA.

I missed bidding on the contract due to being told I could not bid it due to working for the office that is being investigated. I was told I could solicit it after USPS closed the bidding process and received an email with a solicitation packet but I applied for my CMRA to go private and had over 1000 customera return to secure a po box for that location.

Please now these events that have transpired, OIG, USPS, closing, taking a risk to reopen, still unemployed- have all been extremely stressful and confusing. I want nothing more to operate an efficient post office. Federally regulated or private. I have spoken to Postmaster, Eric Schuler who relayed to me that he has nothing to do with any of this. I spoke to OIG again and still do not understand why I was never given an opportunity to correct a problem with USPS help. I spoke to Contract Specialist and was told they do not have anything to do with approving a CMRA.

My intentions were to get a post office back in that same location and it looks like USPS has awarded the contract and needs that location.

The turn of events that have transpired, all I can do is inform all of you I have to Dec. 1 for USPS to approve my CMRA.... IDEAS? Anyone?? ~Nina~
