New York’s State Senate and Assembly have passed a budget extender to keep state government running through April 7.

Most importantly, the extender includes funding to ensure CSEA-represented Executive branch members on the Institution payroll continue to be paid on time, with no disruptions or delays.

A final state budget is still being negotiated and CSEA is continuing to monitor developments closely while advocating for the priorities that matter most to members.

We’ll keep you updated as budget negotiations continue.

The CSEA negotiating team completed another session with the state.

While the team continues to propose numerous contractual enhancements, this past session weighed in on safety and health issues with various state agencies. Significant concerns include DOT workers being “assaulted” through intrusions in work zones, safety related issues in NY state parks, assaults of our workers in OMH and OCFS and many other agencies where safety needs to be addressed. The state was receptive to many of the issues the team raised.

We are scheduled to be back with the State on both March 16 & 17, where your CSEA Team will continue to fight for the best contract that acknowledges the hard work and dedication CSEA members provide each and every day.

Friendly Reminder for any EBF members with our Prescription Drug Co-Pay Reimbursement Benefit! March is coming quick and that means the final deadline for Prescription Drug Co-Pay Reimbursement Claim Forms is around the corner. Forms for 2025 must be submitted BEOFRE March 31st so make sure to mail in your form and itemized printout from your pharmacy. Forms can be found on our website in the 'Download Forms' tab. FOR NON STATE EMPLOYEES: Check your contract or use the Benefit Search Tool on our website to determine eligibility.
