🎣 Registration is still open for the Kids Fishin’ Derby & Campout! ⛺

Join us next Saturday at Capp Smith Park for a fun-filled family evening of fishing, camping, and enjoying the outdoors under the stars!

📅 September 11–12
⏰ Campout: September 11 at 5:00 PM through September 12 at 10:00 AM
🎣 Fishing Derby: 6:00–9:00 PM
📍 Capp Smith Park
💙 FREE event!

Fishing poles and bait will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Don’t forget to bring your tent, camping gear, and everything you need for a great night outdoors!

The Fishing Derby is for kids ages 16 and under, but all ages are welcome to fish. Adults ages 17 and older are required to have a fishing license. Fishing licenses are not required for kids 16 and younger.

This is a catch-and-release event.

Registration is available online, at the Hector F. Garcia Community Center located at 7901 Indian Springs Rd., or at Capp Smith Park on the day of the event between 5:00 and 6:00 PM.

🎉 Another wonderful week at the Watauga Active Adult Center!

Our members had a great time staying active, learning, and connecting with friends throughout the week! From Game Night, card games, and Mahjong to dance classes, Lunch & Learns, arts & crafts, and so much more, there was something for everyone to enjoy. 🎲💃🃏🎨

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make another week at the Watauga Active Adult Center so much fun!

Get ready to run, walk, and scream at the 2026 Watauga Running Scared 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk!

This year, the Running Scared 5k & 1-Mile Fun Run/ Walk will be at the Capp Smith Park Amphitheater! Choose between the professionally timed 5K Run and the family-friendly 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk. Costumes are strongly encouraged, so bring your family, wear your favorite Halloween costume, and enjoy a spooky morning at Capp Smith Park!

Event proceeds support local community initiatives, including Shoes for Kids, a Sertoma Club of Watauga program.
