WVFD was dispatched to a report of smoke in a residence earlier. Upon arrival units observed fluid and smoke coming from the meter box, a snake was found to be the cause of the problem and power to the residence was shut off.

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 (𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) – A KYTC contractor is planning an extended closure on U.S. 45 in Graves County, about a mile north of Water Valley, starting as early as Monday, June 8.

A new bridge will be built at mile point 1.8 over Jackson Creek.
Expected to be completed by the end of the year, weather permitting.

WVFD responded to two incidents this morning. The first was an MVA on I69 involving a semi and a passenger car at the 8mile marker, as units were clearing that scene we were dispatched to a chicken barn fire on Hwy 1283. WVFD responded with 5 apparatus, units were on scene within minutes with a working fire and mutual aid was requested from Wingo FD and Hickman Co Fire/Rescue. Thank you to all who assisted today!
