Let’s face it, 2026 has been something else!

From the ice storm to clean-up efforts and everything in between, it’s been a lot for the people of Water Valley. Last night, the Water Valley Utilities Commission voted unanimously to say “THANK YOU” to the customers of Water Valley’s utilities systems in a small way.

Join the Water Valley Utilities Commission for an afternoon of food, fellowship, and appreciation on Friday, June 12th from 11-2 in the parking lot of Railroad Park.

Commission members will be serving hot dogs and giving away complimentary t-shirts and door prizes as a small token of our gratitude for your continued support.

We look forward to saying thank you in person and visiting with the people who make our community-owned utility possible.

All food, t-shirts, and door prizes are being privately donated and are provided at no expense to taxpayers or utility ratepayers.

Blackmur Library is gearing up for the 2026 Summer Library Program coming in June!

This year's theme is Unearth A Story and we've got a lot of great activities planned. Each Thursday in June, from 10-11 a.m. we'll have games and activities for kids ages 7-12. We'll also have a story time for younger children starting each Thursday at 11 a.m.

Preregistration is currently underway. Parents and legal guardians can preregister at the library or they can use the registration for included in the comments below. There is also a letter that gives more details about the program below.

So plan to join in the fun this summer!

2026–2027 School Registration is now open for the Water Valley School District.

Returning students should log into Active Parent and select “Returning Student 26–27 Registration” to complete the process. New students must have a registration code, an Active Parent account, and all required documentation in order to enroll.
Please note that the Over the Counter Medication Form is required for all students this year and must be signed by a physician in order for registration to be complete. At Davidson Elementary School, this form will be sent home with students. At Water Valley High School, the form will be distributed during report card pick-up.
