At VCCVS, when someone has experienced a sexual assault and has sought medical attention, the Sexual Assault Program is able to assist with medical and mental health expenses. In FY2025, the program paid $76,837.62 toward forensic nursing care and mental health counseling.

Pagan Kennedy offers a fascinating history about the woman who is responsible for the creation of the "r**e kit", Marty Goddard. The book will keep readers interested and entertained, while also shedding light on a forgotten journey of advocacy to put a system in place that ensures victims of sexual assault have the right to fille evidence.
