🎉 What an Incredible Day for Crownbrook and Waterbury!

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated the groundbreaking of six new homes coming to the Crownbrook neighborhood, marking a major milestone in a vision that has been years in the making.

We were honored to welcome nearly 50 community members, partners, residents, volunteers, and supporters who joined us to celebrate this exciting next chapter. Special thanks to representatives from the Mayor's Office, NeighborWorks America, Senator Murphy's Office, Studio Q Architecture, LaRosa Building Group, as well as our dedicated NEST staff, Board of Directors, volunteers, and community residents for your support and commitment to this work.

This milestone moves us one step closer to welcoming new homeowners and continuing the positive momentum taking place throughout Crownbrook.

To everyone who has helped move this vision forward since 2015, thank you. Yesterday's groundbreaking was not just the start of construction. It was a celebration of partnership, perseverance, and the power of community.

☕ A big thank you to the team at 7 Brew Coffee Waterbury for stopping by NEST with a generous assortment of delicious drinks!💚

Our staff was thrilled by the surprise and loved trying the different flavors. There were so many tasty options that we couldn't keep them all to ourselves, so we shared the kindness with our neighbors throughout the building and even across the street.

At our Love and Care Community Garden in Waterbury, we're cultivating community, connection, and opportunity.

Our garden is home to:
🌿 More than 15 garden beds that help provide fresh produce to local residents
🧘 Community wellness events, including yoga in the garden
🌻 Gardening workshops that teach sustainable growing practices
🥬 Free food distributions in partnership with Whole Foods Distribution Center
