Two weeks. Countless shovels in the ground. Dozens of helping hands. One shared vision for a greener future. 🌳💚
Over the last two weeks, our community came together to do something truly remarkable.
Neighbors, volunteers, families, and partners joined us at both the Brass City Harvest and River Baldwin Recreation Center planting days to transform our shared spaces, one tree at a time.
Each tree planted tells a story. A story of community members rolling up their sleeves, children learning about environmental stewardship, and residents investing in the future of their neighborhoods. Years from now, these trees will provide shade, cleaner air, beauty, and habitat for wildlife. Perhaps their greatest gift, however, is the reminder that when a community comes together, amazing things happen.
Urban forestry is about so much more than planting trees. It is about planting hope, building connections, and creating healthier, more vibrant neighborhoods for generations to come.
Thank you to everyone who dug, planted, watered, cheered, learned, and participated along the way. A special shout out to our program sponsor, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Community involvement is at the heart of everything we do, and we are grateful to each of you for making these planting days so special.
