We have really great news! Brain Injury Agency of Vermont has been selected again as a nonprofit partner in the Hannaford Community Bag Program. This means that our organization will receive $1 for each $2.50 reusable Community Bag sold throughout the month of September 2026 at the Hannaford at 78 Marshall Ave, Williston, VT.

A huge thank you to Hannaford for providing us with their support!

When it is time to get your child a new bike helmet? Coalition partners the Brain Injury Agency of Vermont and Local Motion share these tips about bike helmets!

🚴Replace a helmet after an impact - no matter how minor, if it is visibly damaged (such as cracks or signs of wear on the straps), or when the manufacturer recommends. Most manufacturers state 3 to 5 years from the manufacture date.
🚴‍♀️Remember to keep helmets out of extreme heat, as that can weaken protective materials too.
🚴As your child grows, check the fit often and size up when needed. But never buy a helmet your child to "grow into" - it should sit level and snug on the head with no shifting.
🚴‍♀️A helmet is only effective when it's worn. If your child's, tween's, or teen's tastes have changed, it might not be a bad idea to get them a helmet they like!
