Bullseye!

Our Best Warrior Competitors qualified with the M4A1 carbine and M17 pistol today.

Following qualification, NCOs from the 102nd Infantry Regiment threw our competitors through the wringer, testing their weapon familiarization and shooting skills by inducing multiple different types of weapon malfunctions, which had to be cleared. If that wasn't difficult enough, our cadre at times forced the competitors to use their non-dominate arm to clear their weapon and to shoot, simulating sustaining an injury in combat and getting back into the fight.

Yesterday, the Connecticut National Guard hosted a tour of Cyber Yankee for distinguished visitors.

Cyber Yankee is a joint DoD, government partner and civilian partner cyber training exercise which replicates our civilian partner environments and allows our Cyber professionals to hone their skills as they defend against a simulated cyber attack.

Exercises like these are crucial to highlight the importance of cybersecurity, help build familiarity and strong bonds with our private sector partners and ultimately prepare our Cyber warriors to keep the Nation safe from cyber threats.
