🌊 Happy World Oceans Day, Connecticut!

The ocean might feel far away for some of us, but it’s all connected—and it plays a huge role in our health, our climate, and our communities.

Today is a reminder to:
♻️ Reduce plastic waste

🌱 Choose sustainable habits when you can
💙 Appreciate and protect our waterways
Small actions on land really do add up to a big impact at sea.

🧡 Today, the Waterbury Health Department team is wearing orange in recognition of National Gun Violence Awareness Day. 🧡

By wearing orange, we honor survivors, remember those whose lives have been lost to gun violence, and stand in solidarity with families and communities affected by violence.

Gun violence is a public health issue that impacts individuals, families, and neighborhoods across our nation. Together, we can raise awareness, support prevention efforts, and promote safer, healthier communities for everyone.

Today, we wear orange. Today, we stand together.
