The CBMS PTO annual winter fundraiser is now live! Beautiful wreaths and poinsettias are for sale just in time for the holidays via the CBMS PTO Website www.cbmspto.com/online-store. All orders must be in by Sunday, November 14th! We offer the ability to place your orders directly online, or print out an order form and collect payment from coworkers, friends, and family. This is intended to be our sole fundraiser for the year AND WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!! Funds are used to support the PTO's activities including fun nights, field trips, discretionary grants to enhance the educational process, and teacher appreciation events. Let's do it for the kids, our teachers and for our community!

ATTENTION CBMS FAMILIES:
The new school year is rapidly approaching and the entire PTO Board from last year is moving on to Harwood. This is by no means a huge time commitment, but is hugely beneficial in engaging our students. Meetings are generally every other month for 1 hour. Depending on your role, there may be 1-2 hours additional work during that time as well. We need YOU to step up and keep this group rolling! Four board positions available:
President: Oversee all functions of the PTO, schedule & run meetings
Vice President: All back up duties of the President
Treasurer: Keep the books on our fundraising and expenses (ideal person will have a finance background)
Secretary: Record meeting minutes (Roberts Rules of Order)

The former board is more than willing to help guide you through the transition. If the upcoming year is even a fraction as difficult for Middle students and staff than last year, the PTO is more important than ever. Incoming 5th grade parents and 6th are ideal as you will have the most time to shape things as you wish. 7th and 8th grade families are extremely valuable as you all already know the ropes.

Sharing from the HUUSD Board: On May 26th, the School Board will be voting whether or not to continue with its plan to bring all 7th and 8th graders to CBMS in the fall of 2022. If the Board votes to continue, it will be making decisions about possible changes to CBMS -- whether or not there should be an addition, how big it should be, etc. Each decision has implications for costs as well as the way things will feel for students and teachers inside the building.

Whether or not you are in support of bringing all 7th and 8th graders to CBMS, we invite you to share your thoughts about how, if we do merge, to make that as good as possible for our district. We have put together a very brief survey to understand more about community priorities in this area. We are hoping you will take 5 minutes to do the survey -- and encourage your neighbors to do the same! The survey will be open until Thursday, May 20. Thank you so much,
