💙 Faith, Hope & Our Community 💙We are especially proud of our own Father James Sullivan, a valued member of the St. Vincent DePaul Mission Board of Directors, who was recently interviewed by WFSB-TV about the renovation of Waterbury’s historic Holy Land. In this thoughtful interview, Father Sullivan speaks not only about the importance of preserving and revitalizing this beloved landmark, but also about spirituality, faith and the deeper meaning Holy Land continues to hold for our community. We are grateful for Father Sullivan’s leadership, compassion and commitment to our community. We invite you to watch this wonderful interview and hear his inspiring words. 🙏

Father James M. Sullivan, pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Waterbury.

A SMALL DONATION CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE. ❤️ Imagine arriving at a Shelter with little more than what you’re carrying—and knowing that someone cared enough to make sure you had the everyday essentials you needed. That’s what your generosity provides. ❤️ Our Shelter welcomes so many guests throughout the year, and items like shampoo, deodorant, razors, and lotion disappear quickly. Please consider picking up an item from our September Wish List the next time you shop. It may seem like a small gesture—but to someone staying at our Shelter, it can mean comfort, dignity, and knowing that their community cares.📍 DROP-OFF / DELIVERY:

Together, we can turn everyday essentials into extraordinary acts of kindness. ❤️🙏 Please share.

Mastering the art of the layer: 🧑‍🍳✨Chef-Instructor Frank Parafati took our Merriman Culinary Job Training Program students into the kitchen to learn the exact science (and art!) behind a truly great lasagna. From piping precision to prep work, these future culinary pros are building skills that open doors. We love seeing the focus and dedication in this kitchen every single day. There’s something truly special about young people who choose to spend their time making a difference in the lives of others. ❤️ We are so grateful to have Oliver Severino spending the remainder of his summer volunteering at the St. Vincent DePaul Mission Soup Kitchen! Oliver, who will be entering his senior year at The Frederick Gunn School (The Gunnery), has been lending a helping hand wherever needed—from assisting with meal service to being part of the team that helps ensure nutritious meals are prepared and served to those in our community. His willingness to give his time, energy and compassion is a wonderful example of how one young person can make a meaningful impact. Thank you, Oliver, for choosing to serve and make a difference! Your kindness and dedication are making a difference at St. Vincent DePaul Mission. 💙

A YOUNG HEART MAKING A BIG DIFFERENCE ! A heartfelt THANK YOU to Drew Baker, an 8th-grade student at Waterbury Arts Magnet School (WAMS), for organizing his 3rd Annual “Snacks For Kids Drive” at the parishes of St. Basil and Mary, Mother of the Church, Wolcott, to help children in need throughout Greater Waterbury! 🥰 Inspired 3 years ago by his concern that local food pantries weren’t receiving enough after-school and lunchbox snacks for children, Drew turned that concern into action—and has continued to make a difference year after year. This year, Drew collected an incredible assortment of snacks for children residing at the St. Vincent DePaul Mission Shelter, as well as for Greater Waterbury Interfaith-Ministries, Waterbury Baptist Ministries, and the Wolcott Connecticut Food Pantry. He also collected monetary donations to support the children and families at our Shelter. Drew's compassion, initiative, and commitment to helping others are truly inspiring. Pictured are Drew, his sister Maggie, and SVDP Mission Director of Operations Edwin Rodriguez. Thank you, Drew, for caring—and for putting your heart into helping kids in our community! 🙏❤️
