Waterbury Recycling

Waterbury Recycling Waterbury Recycling promotes efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle in The Brass City. The big change from little orange bin to big cart is planned for June 2017.

Waterbury Recycling is the office of Waterbury's Recycling Coordinator, CJ May. CJ's most significant goal is to increase participation in recycling by Waterbury residents and achieve related environmental and economic benefits. In 2015 this effort took the form of extensive work on outreach to citizens through pilot projects, events, individual outreach and social media. Three pilot projects were

created to improve and test recycling methods in three key sectors: 1) curbside/residential, 2) school and 3) municipal building. Much of 2016 and early 2017 are devoted to Waterbury's conversion to 96 gallon recycling cart-based collection for the 32,000 households serviced by curbside collection.
