Peebles Island State Park Discover Peebles Island State Park, a 191-acre oasis of natural beauty at the confluenece of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers.

Peebles Island State Park has 3 miles of trails, great views, picnic spots, a pavilion to rent, and a kayak/canoe launch. The Park offers recreational oppurtunites in all seasons. Vehicle entrance fee: $6 per car
5/2-10/12 Weekends & Holidays
Pavilion: $75/day (electric;capacity: 80-100)+ 10X27' room which includes a refrigerator, commerical trree-bay sink with hot and cold running water and a

long counter with a service window out to the pavilion $75. Tent: $50/day 20X30'
Pavilion/tent rentals will begin on Feb 3, 2016
The Park is open at 6am during striped bass season. Please call to verify operating hours
Walking Trails: Year round
Shelter: Mid-May to Mid-October
*Please note: Bicycles are not permitted on trails
Hunting is not permitted.

Wednesday, November 25 at 2pm. Whitetail Deer Hike at Peebles Island State Park. Have you ever wondered what whitetail deer do in the winter, why they have their antlers only part of the year or how their diet changes in wnter? Perhaps being outdoors alongside the majestic Mohawk River appeals to you. Or maybe you would just like to view some wildlife. Come join us to explore the Island's deer population before the landscape gets blanketed in white. Bring a pair of good shoes/boots, binolculars recommended but not essential. Free and open to the public. Registration encouraged but not necessary. Meet at the Visitor Center. Call 518-268-2188 for more info.

READING THE LANDSCAPE VETERANS DAY hike, Wednesday, November 11 at 10am. at Peebles Island is designed to bring awareness of the different flora and fauna that is present on the Island. We will identify species of trees, why they grow in certain areas, vernal pools, evidence and a better understanding of differing animal patterns as well as enjoying one of the last cool crisp days of Autumn. Hike is free. No rain date scheduled. Registration encouraged but not necessary. 518-268-2188. Meet in the main parking lot. Geared for all ages.

Thursday, November 5, 10a.m. - Musical Instruments education program for pre-schoolers. Join Mohawk Flute Player Eric Marczak as he explains how the Mohawks used the parts of animals to make musical instruments such as the drum, the flute and the rattle. Also enjoy his flute playing and learn some Mohawk lifeways by touching and feeling. Meet at the Pavilion

Thursday, November 19, 10a.m. - The FIrst Thanksgiving
Discover what happened at the first thanksgiving besides eating turkey. Play Wampanoag Indian games such as the ring catch and pick up stix. Enjoy some apple cider and a pilgrim cookie.
Meet at the pavilion.
Please note programs will be inside the Visitor Center in the event of inclement weather.
