🚨 OUR COMMUNITY’S HERO NEEDS US 🚨

If you live in the Waterford or Lyons area, chances are you’ve seen Quinn Adamek. He’s the guy driving the fire trucks, marching in the local parades, and teaching fire safety to our kids. For years, Quinn has dedicated his life to protecting others as a full-time Firefighter/EMT for the Waterford Fire Department, and previously with Lyons Fire and Curtis Ambulance.

Now, after all the care he has given others, it is our turn to help him.

On Saturday, May 23, Quinn was involved in a severe motorcycle accident. He is currently in the surgical ICU at Froedtert Hospital after undergoing extensive surgery to fuse his neck vertebrae (C2-C7). The accident has left him with no sensation or use of his legs and lower body, and extremely limited use of his upper body, alongside multiple other serious injuries.

Quinn is only 24 years old. He has a lifelong road of healing, rehabilitation, and learning a new way of life ahead of him.

How you can help:
A Custom Ink apparel fundraiser has been set up to help Quinn and his family navigate the immense medical and rehabilitation costs ahead.

The Waterford Police Department offers an Internet Purchase Exchange Meet-Up Spot for residents buying or selling items through online marketplace sites.

The designated area is located in the front area of our lot, just to the right as you enter, and is clearly marked by signs (Thank you Town of Waterford DPW for help with the sign install).

This area provides a safer location to meet with unfamiliar parties and complete transactions. For added safety and accountability, the area is video recorded, and license plates are captured and logged by the department’s camera system.

We encourage residents to use this space whenever meeting someone to buy, sell, or exchange items from online marketplaces. Your safety matters to us!

The Village of Waterford is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Weishar as its new Village Administrator.

Weishar brings over two decades of dedicated municipal management, fiscal leadership, and community engagement experience to Waterford. She most recently served as the Assistant Village Manager for the Village of Greendale, Wisconsin, a position she held for 14 years.

Throughout her tenure in Greendale, Weishar proved to be a versatile leader, notably serving as Acting Village Manager in the absence of the Village Manager, ensuring continuity of leadership and operations, as well as temporarily stepping in as the Acting Public Works Director. Her extensive background spans:

Human Resources: As Assistant Village Manager, Weishar served as the Greendale’s Human Resources Director, overseeing employee benefits administration, personnel policies, recruitment and collective bargaining negotiations.

Fiscal Management & Budgeting: Weishar has a deep history in municipal finance. In Greendale, she analyzed departmental requests and projected personnel costs to help shape the annual budget, while conducting vital cost-benefit and staffing analyses. Her financial acumen also includes past experience as a Fiscal and Management Analyst for Milwaukee County, where she reviewed operating and capital budget requests and assisted with bond issuances.

Economic Development & Planning: Weishar assisted with Greendale's economic development initiatives, supporting redevelopment efforts and the creation of new Tax Increment Districts (TID) in the Southridge Mall area. Earlier in her career, as the Planning & Zoning Administrator/Deputy Treasurer for the Village of Richfield, she managed rapid suburban growth, coordinating residential subdivisions, business park lots, and major commercial developments like Cabela's.
Community Communication: Recognizing that transparency builds public trust, Weishar has consistently championed clear communication. She spearheaded Greendale’s digital communication strategy—overseeing its website and social media platforms—and created a biweekly email update for residents as well as a New Resident Guide to to improve access to local government information, services, and resources

As a resident of the local area, Weishar steps into the role with an existing familiarity with the unique opportunities and challenges facing the greater Waterford area. She has expressed great enthusiasm for moving the Village Board's current initiatives forward, specifically noting her interest in addressing regional Fire/EMS services, establishing a boundary agreement with the Town of Waterford, and continuing efforts to modernize local ordinances and policies.

Weishar holds a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) with an emphasis in Municipal Management, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, both from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The Village of Waterford is excited to welcome Sarah Weishar and looks forward to her leadership in fostering a transparent, fiscally sound, and vibrant community.

Please be aware of the rules. There have been numerous issues - bikes & e-bikes are not allowed on the sidewalks. Please use the bike lane or bike path. Pedestrians have the right-of-way. Buildings downtown are close to the sidewalk and opening doors when a bike, e-bike or scooters is traveling can cause injury to the rider and or the person exiting a building.

Happy make-up-Arbor Day! Due to the flooding of the park we rescheduled our 4th grade Arbor Day event to today. We had an amazing group of Evergreen Elementary 4th graders and their teachers and helpers. Waterford Graded School District

Thank you to our Parks Department for planning this event and Paul Swartz Nursery for being a great partner to make this event possible.

Arbor Day Foundation would be proud of the new trees the kids helped plant in Ten Club Park and the 180 evergreen saplings we gifted to the students to plant.
