Good afternoon!

Please be prepared for severe weather today!

Some things to help be prepared:

- Make sure you have a weather radio that is operational.

- Make sure you have MULTIPLE ways to receive emergency notifications. (weather radio, TV, Radio, Code Red emergency notifications, Facebook, etc.)

- Outdoor weather sirens are made to be heard for people outdoors NOT indoors!

- Secure things that could be projectiles (trash cans, patio furniture, trampolines, sporting equipment, camping equipment, gas grills, fire pits, etc.)

- Please take todays advanced warnings seriously! Monroe County has been upgraded to a level 4 out of 5 category for potential severe weather.

- Have a plan if you need to take shelter! Where are you going to shelter in place? Where are your loved ones going to shelter in place? Where are your pets going to shelter in place?

Please be safe out there today and be prepared!

Listen for updates if you are out or need to travel!

Be safe!

Good afternoon. Please be prepared for potential severe weather tonight! While most of the severe weather is forecasted to the west and north of our county, that can change fast! Please do the following to help in being prepared:
Make sure your weather radio is operational and has batteries for back up!
Be prepared for power outages!
Be prepared for flooded roadways and flooded bridges! TURN AROUND DONT DROWN!
We are forecasted for possible high winds! Make sure you have your patio furniture, trash cans, trampolines, tents, campers, etc. secured so residents a few blocks over don't take ownership of them!
REMEMBER OUTDOOR WEATHER SIRENS ARE FOR PEOPLE OUTDOORS! Outdoor sirens are not intended to be heard inside your home or business!
Be attentive of updates on the radios, televisions, and TRUSTED social media sites.

Stay safe everyone! Enjoy your weekend!

Please be aware that Tomorrow, June 3rd, the City of Waterloo, Village of Valmeyer, and Village of Hecker will be conducting the monthly outdoor weather siren testing. This will also be the semi-annual testing/monitoring of back-up battery operations, radio frequency testing, and overall operations for all siren sites. This is done two times a year. This testing will cause the sirens to be activated several times during the day. Please monitor our site for additional updates as needed. Thank you!
