That’s a wrap on another great year in the Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension Culinary Tent at Celebrate Commemorate Memorial Day! We love sharing samples and educational resources with the public. Today was a much better weather day and we had a full tent of visitors throughout the day.

This year’s Junior Iron Chef contest did not disappoint! The teen participants impressed the socks off of us, incorporating FLX Fresh Asian Greens, FLX Fresh Sh*take Mushrooms, Rhubard from our very own Agriculture Educator, Judy Wright, Eggs from Marshadale Farms, cheese from Muranda, Livrely Run, and Wise’s with a variety of other ingredients into 3 unique and tasty meals!

*For more photos of Junior Iron Chef visit our Seneca County 4-H NY page.*

In addition to our great staff, we enjoyed the pleasure of the company of volunteers Pam, Shelly, and Berta this weekend too. We are thankful for our amazing volunteers!

We braved the chilly rainy weather for our annual adventures in the Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension Culinary Tent at Celebrate Commemorate Memorial Day! Despite the weather we met new friends and chatted with “old” friends throughout the day.

Festival goers enjoyed our:
Blender Bike Smoothies
Seneca County cheeses from Muranda Cheese Company, Wises Country Creamery, Crosswinds Farm & Creamery, Lively Run Dairy, and Family Farms Creamery
Dilly Beans
Beet Brownies and Sweet Potato Brownies

Several enjoyed testing out the Blender, Milking Nellie the Cow, and picking up swag galore!

It was such a pleasure to join Romulus FFA & Agricultural Education students, families, school faculty and staff, community members and more at the Banquet. Our Seneca County 4-H NY has appreciated an ongoing partnership to highlight Agricultural Literacy and grow with these students facilitation and public speaking skills throughout the year. It has been so exciting to watch these young people develop higher levels of confidence, self-concept, motivation.

Thank you Romulus FFA! We are so proud of your passionate pursuits, hard work, determination, and welcoming way!

Staff were honored to help celebrate STEPS Project accomplishments tonight! Not only does STEPS connect agencies together for the benefit of towns in southern Seneca County, the organization has empowered community members to be their own change-agents.

❤️ Small towns making big changes one "step" at a time.
