This morning CBS doubled down supporting Nora O'Donnell interview last night with Trump after the attack on the Correspondence Dinner. Trump is right calling her "disgraceful" because all she did is put misinformation back in play for radicals to exploit. The majority of US Citizens are sick and tired of media spinning up negative misinformation rhetoric that crazy people like the attacker and the various radical anti- Trump, anti-Christian and anti-constitutional groups take as factual and then play out their hate with terroristic and violence in our streets.
What she quoted was the personal thoughts of the attacker.
Nora, remember that when you point a finger at someone the other fingers on your hand are pointing directly back at you!

The Monroe County Republicans would like to thank Ed McLean for his leadership these last 10 years. He will be missed, but I am certain he will enjoy the time off.

Monroe County, IL — After ten years of dedicated service to the Monroe County Republican Party, Chairman Ed McLean has announced his retirement.

Show up to your city/village/county government meetings and ask how these continuous Pritzker/Democrat cuts to the income tax share (10% down to 6.28%) to communities impacts Monroe County services and increases real estate taxes to make up the differences. Read the following shell game they are playing.

Mayors and municipal leaders from around the state are pushing back on a part of Governor JB Pritzker’s budget proposal which they say cuts the share of income tax revenue the state traditionally splits with municipalities, but the Governor’s office is defending the move.

Pritzker’s budget proposal holds the dollar amount of the Local Government Distributive Fund (LGDF) flat, but cuts the share of tax revenue from 6.47% to 6.28%. The dollar amount remains flat, but income tax revenue is expected to grow in FY27, which accounts for the percentage reduction.

FACT: State government agreed to share 10% of income tax revenue with municipalities when the state income tax was enacted in 1969. The share has reduced among the state’s fiscal challenges in recent years.

Mayors and other leaders say Governor Pritzker’s proposal will harm communities.

Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara, a Democrat, says Pritzker’s proposed budget continues a trend from Governors of both parties that has “taken away” $144 million in funding from Rockford since 2012 and Pritzker’s FY27 proposal reduces funding for the city by some $800,000. Ask, how has this impacted Monroe County.

“My belief is the more money you can get to local governments, the more property tax relief you can provide,” the third term Mayor said. “I think there’s a way that you can actually make things more affordable and make local governments stronger while paying pensions and providing critical local government resources and services.”

Donna Johnson, the Mayor of suburban Libertyville, says the reduction in funding will make it more difficult to hire and retain police officers and firefighters. What are our leaders saying.

Pritzker is no good for Southern Illinois - Another Con Job by Democrats - Bait and Switch - Bottom line, we are not getting the funding that the legislation was passed with, and the result is far less funding for our roads and bridges

Not good! Starting June 1st, $1.5 billion in road funding money will be shifted to Chicago away from the rest of Illinois. This means if you don’t live in Chicago, road projects in your area may be delayed and may not even get done at all.

Illinois Senate Bill 2111, approved by Illinois Democrats and signed into law in December 2025 by JB Pritzker, redirects approximately $1.5 billion in annual funding from the state’s Road Fund to public transportation, primarily aiding Chicago transit.

This includes shifting $860 million in motor fuel sales tax revenue and $200 million in Road Fund interest away from road projects to the new Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA), which replaces the RTA. Chicago gets the money while the rest of the state does not.

New road funding formula starting June 1:

-85% allocated to Chicago-area and 15% to downstate

Current formula: 55% downstate / 45% Chicago

This legislation aims to support public transportation in Illinois, particularly in the Chicago region, and will take effect in June 2026.

We have had over 50 tax and fee increases since J.B. Pritzker took office and Illinoisans now carry the heaviest tax burden in the country. State spending is up over 40%.

Is your household budget up over 40% since 2019? What about the budget at your place of work? Have you seen a 40% improvement in services from the State of Illinois?

Illinois is broken because of failed policies and a misallocation of resources. Voters must demand change so that thoughtful Republican fiscal policies can bring back Illinois' economy and opportunity for Illinois families.

On this day in 1854, the Republican Party was established in Ripon, Wisconsin, when a group of men came together to form an anti-slavery coalition to meet the growing danger it posed to the country.
