Dispatchers recently had the opportunity to attend National Night Out at Cedar Falls Public Safety. 🚒🚓🚑

We were able to use our 911 Simulator 📱to allow the public the chance to practice calling 911 in an environment that does not actually call 911 for real. Kids are able to practice dialing a cell phone simulator and talk to a Dispatcher that answers the phone.

They are also able to start the conversation with their family about learning their address and reasons they might need to call 911. Our Dispatchers love participating in this event each year and helping the Public learn about 911. 🖤💛🖤

During the month of July, our Dispatchers were able to tour the new Cedar Falls High School with the help of Cedar Falls Public Safety School Resource Officers Helgeson & Johannsen. 🎒

Even though our Dispatchers work primarily behind phones & computers, it is extremely helpful to have the opportunity to see these buildings and get familiar with their unique layouts for when they need to guide Police, Fire, & EMS to callers in need. We appreciate this valuable training time, thank you Cedar Falls! 🚓🚑🚒

We are a bit behind on posting, but in the months of May & June, the Lost Island Themepark & Lost Island Waterpark allowed our Dispatchers to tour their facilities. We are so fortunate to have these experiences to lay eyes on these parks to better serve the public in the event of an emergency. Thank you so much Lost Island for allowing us this time!
