TODAY IS THE DAY!

The sun is up, the trout are swimming,
And here at the Hatchery, we’re just beginning.

From 11 to 1, come join the fun,
Our summer broadcast with WRJO has begun!

We’ll bait your hook, you catch the trout,
And if you need some help, just give us a shout.

We’ll clean your fish and pack it on ice,
Honestly, could we make fishing any more nice?

Take it home, look up a recipe or two,
Then fry it, bake it, grill it… that part’s up to you.

We’ve got hot dogs, raffles, prizes and more,
Good old-fashioned Northwoods fun is what we’re here for.

Come for the fishing, stay for the laughs,
Meet your neighbors and wander the paths.

It’s community, camaraderie and summertime fun,
And we’d love to see EVERYONE.

And yes… Dino the Dinosaur will be roaming around.

You may say hello.
You may take a picture.
You may admire this prehistoric creature from a safe distance.

But PLEASE DO NOT FEED DINO.

He’s already had a hot dog and at his age, we really have to watch his sodium.

Tomorrow, August 15, from 11 AM to 1 PM is our annual WRJO radio broadcast at the Watersmeet Trout Hatchery!

Come spend a couple of hours with us. We’ll have raffles, prizes, fishing, and plenty of fun. And when we say fishing, we make it pretty easy on you. We’ll bait your hook, help you take the fish off, AND clean and pack your fish for you. Basically, you just have to show up and take all the credit.

We might even cook your kids a hot dog while you’re here. No promises on fine dining, but nobody has ever accused us of being fancy.

And if you’ve heard our latest WRJO radio spot, make sure you stop by and say hello to our very own prehistoric attraction: our owner, Dino. He’s been roaming these grounds for many, many years. Scientists are still trying to determine exactly how many.

Come see us tomorrow from 11 to 1. Bring the kids, catch some fish, win some prizes, have a hot dog, and meet a living fossil.

If you’ve never spent a Saturday fishing with a swan family, eating hot dogs and hanging out with a dinosaur, have we got plans for you.

Saturday, August 15 is our annual WRJO Radio Broadcast at the Watersmeet Trout Hatchery, and we’d love for you to come spend the day with us!

And before you say, “But I don’t fish…” PERFECT. You don’t even need to know what you’re doing.

You can fish at the hatchery WITHOUT a fishing license, and our guys and gals will even bait your hook for you. Catch something? We’ll take the fish off the hook, clean it, pack it on ice and send you home looking like you knew exactly what you were doing the entire time.

Bring the kids because we’ll have hot dogs for them and maybe even a popsicle or two. We’ll also have lots of fun giveaways and prizes throughout the day.

You don’t have to fish to have a good time either. Come walk around our beautiful grounds, check out the ponds, feed the fish, visit some of our grandpa fish who have been around here forever, and say hello to our resident swan family, the Swansons, who return to the hatchery year after year.

And speaking of ancient creatures…

You may even get to meet Dino.

Dino is not technically a dinosaur. He’s the owner of the hatchery. But he’s been around long enough that we feel like it’s really just a matter of semantics at this point.

Please do not feed Dino. We have hot dogs for that.

Come hang out with us and WRJO on Saturday, August 15 at the Watersmeet Trout Hatchery. Catch a fish, eat a hot dog, win a prize, feed the fish, visit the Swansons and meet our very own prehistoric hatchery owner.
