No, it's not a lion without a mane...it's Roscoe! On the last day of school, Ryker brought his pit bull, Roscoe, who is the defintion of a "gentle giant", to visit our school. Roscoe loves to slobber, kiss, love on everyone and take naps on the cool classroom floor. Besides enjoying Roscoe, we learned a bit about dog safety in general like not rushing towards dogs we don't know and always asking for permission before petting them.
By the end of Roscoe's visit, we were trying to persuade Mrs. Willis to get him certified as an emotional support dog!!!

What better way to review math, grammar and science than a Schoolyard Ecosystem Abiotic/Biotic Scavenger Hunt?! Second and third graders spent a few days reviewing vocabulary, measurements and grammar while observing and investigaating living and nonliving things around LEAP's campus. Whether measuring the circumference of a tree or determining the direction of the wind from blowing bubbles, students had a fun time learning outside!

We celebrated some summer birthdays before school ended. We wish Collin, Ryker and Rylan the happiest of birthdays - one last round of standing on desks to be sung to! Thank you all for the delicious treats you shared with our class. We hope the coming year is filled with nothing but good things for you all!

During the high school's second and third trimesters, we were fortunate to have Miss Riley mentor in our classroom. Miss Riley is our former secretary, Mrs. Stalker's daughter. Riley worked with the entire class either individually or in small groups on math facts by playing games and skill reviews. Thanks to her hard work and dedication, the students showed a lot of growth. We're so thankful for the time we were able to spend with her.
Tomorrow Miss Riley graduates and we wish her the very best! Congratulations on all of your accomplishments, Riley! May your future be filled with nothing but good things!💙
