🚲☀️ As the school year comes to an end, our officers were proud to partner with local elementary students for a Bicycle & Summer Safety Course and today we were at Douglas Elementary School! 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

Students learned important safety skills to help them enjoy a fun and safe summer, including:
✅ Bicycle and helmet safety
✅ Road and crosswalk awareness

Our officers enjoyed working with students as they practiced safe riding skills they will need for their summer break. Additionally students were able to license their bikes with Watertown PD which would assist in the return in case of being lost or stolen. We are committed to helping keep our community’s children safe both in and out of the classroom.

Thank you to the school staff, families, and students who helped make this event a success! Have a safe and enjoyable end of school year! 🌞🚴

We had the opportunity to welcome Riverside Middle School’s AVID class to the Police Department!

AVID is a foundational program focused on building academic and organizational skills while helping students prepare for college and future careers. We were excited to give students a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement and share some hands-on learning experiences.

Students toured the Police Department and Dispatch Center, participated in a fingerprinting exercise, and even took part in a mock trial in the courtroom. It was a great opportunity to connect, answer questions, and give students a glimpse into different aspects of policing.

One of the final questions of the day was: “Do cops really love donuts?” 🍩
The answer? Yes. And to wrap up the visit, each student left with a donut of their own.

Thank you to Riverside Middle School’s AVID students and staff for spending part of your day with us. We enjoyed having you and hope to see some future leaders—and maybe even future officers—among the group!
