Greater Watertown Community Health Foundation

Greater Watertown Community Health Foundation We equip community change leaders with the tools they need to build strong families and thriving communities.

With the purpose of promoting and enhancing the health and wellness of our community, our foundation was created out of the September, 2015, joint venture transaction between Watertown Regional Medical Center (WMRC) and LifePoint Health. The value of WRMC was built, in part, on community support over the last century. The GWCHF is committed to carrying on this legacy of health by providing both fi

nancial and leadership resources to enhance the health status of our community. In addition, the foundation holds the community's 20% ownership interest in WRMC and appoints 50% of the WRMC joint venture board to represent our community's healthcare interests. The Foundation is an independent, non-profit governed by its own community board of directors.

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate two incredible leaders from our team who were recently honored by the Watertown AAUW chapter as Women of Merit!

Congratulations to Tina Crave, our Chief Transformation Officer, and Katey Higgins, a dedicated member of our Grants Committee — two women whose passion for community health, bold vision, and tireless service make our community better every single day.

The Women of Merit award recognizes women who create lasting change through leadership, generosity, and service. Tina and Katey embody all of this and more. We are so proud to have them as part of the Greater Watertown Community Health Foundation family.

"Every ripple they've created continues -through the people they've helped, the lives they've touched and the community they've strengthened."

Please join us in congratulating these remarkable women!

Housing is one of the defining issues shaping workforce, community vitality, family stability, and long-term economic resilience across Wisconsin.

The Foundation's Ben Wehmeier, Nathan Peters and Deborah Reinbold with Thrive_ED were pleased to present at the Southeastern Wisconsin Housing Summit and share how data, policy alignment, development partnerships, and innovative financing can help communities close gaps and create more attainable housing options.

The work is complex, but progress is possible when communities share a vision, lead with intention, build broad coalitions, explore new models, and stay committed to community-driven solutions.

📣 Today's youth are the most connected generation in history — yet many feel more alone and anxious than ever.

The good news? Young people are telling us what they need. And they're ready to lead.

At a recent youth wellbeing summit, students, parents, and community leaders in Dodge & Jefferson County came together to build a Roadmap to Flourishing, Future-Ready Youth.

Their vision? Flourishing isn't just the absence of stress — it's feeling connected, having purpose, growing through challenges, and knowing you matter.

Dodge and Jefferson County’s Roadmap to Flourishing, Future-Ready Youth:

Here's what they're calling for:
✅ Prioritize human connection — create distraction-free spaces that strengthen relationships
✅ Protect developing minds — delay smartphones until 9th grade, social media until 16
✅ Use technology with intention — talk openly, model healthy habits, and guide with care

This roadmap was built from hundreds of youth-led conversations and grounded in real lived experience.

"A well-deserved spotlight on the student leaders at Johnson Creek, Waterloo, and Lake Mills — who are already turning this vision into action. Your leadership and commitment to this purposeful work inspire us all. The future is in great hands!"
