Meet David Johnson, an active board member here at the Glacial Lakes Multicultural Center!
David grew up in Estelline, but now resides in downtown Watertown with his wife. Dave and his wife have two grown sons and seven grandchildren, with number eight on the way! He obtained a bachelor’s degree from Augustana University along with a master’s degree from the Graduate School of Bank in Boulder, CO. Dave has been working in banking since 1975. Currently, he serves as the chairman of Reliabank’s board of directors.
David had been a donor for the GLMC for several years before he became an official board member in 2023. David is an active member within the community. He was drawn to the GLMC because of the organization’s vision statement saying, “Welcoming the stranger to South Dakota is essentially a spiritual commitment based on my Lutheran faith.” He is an active member in Rotary International, Church choir, his rock n’ roll band Second Opinion, as well as performing the National Anthem at the various local sporting events.
The GLMC couldn’t be more thankful to have such a generous and intelligent person supporting it. Thank you David Johnson for all your great work here at the GLMC!

David creció en Estelline, pero ahora reside en el centro de Watertown con su esposa. Dave y su esposa tienen dos hijos adultos y siete nietos, ¡con el número ocho en camino! Obtuvo una licenciatura de la Universidad de Augustana junto con una maestría de la Escuela de Posgrado del Banco en Boulder, CO. Dave ha estado trabajando en la banca desde 1975. Actualmente, se desempeña como presidente de la junta directiva de Reliabank.
David había sido un donante para el GLMC durante varios años antes de convertirse en miembro oficial de la junta en 2023. David es un miembro activo dentro de la comunidad. Él se sintió atraído por el GLMC debido a la declaración de visión de la organización diciendo: "Dar la bienvenida al extraño a Dakota del Sur es esencialmente un compromiso espiritual basado en mi fe luterana". Es miembro activo de Rotary International, del coro de la iglesia, de su banda de rock n' roll Second Opinion, además de interpretar el Himno Nacional en los diversos eventos deportivos.
El GLMC no podría estar más agradecido de tener a una persona tan generosa e inteligente apoyándolo. ¡Gracias David Johnson por todo tu gran trabajo aquí en el GLMC!
