Saturday was very busy at the fair as we saw increased foot traffic from fair gowers as many passed through the building to escape the heat of the day. Since Wednesday we have handed out 8,000 American flag stickers and have made hundreds of contacts with SD Veterans, Legion, Auxiliary, and Son's members. We hace been updating our Veterans map and educating our members about there LIT bennifits. If your in Huron for the fair, stop bt the Expo Center and say Hi!!

Day one and two of the South Dakota State Fair has seen steady traffic stopping by the booth. The spining wheel is a big hit with younger attendees as they spin the wheel for a prize, but first they are asked a trivia question related to America's past 250 years. Veterans are asked if they wanted to place a pin on places where they have served. Many great stories are shared while the pins are placed. We are asking our members if they are aware of their LIT bennifit and how they can sign up for them. Be sure to stop by our information booth while you are attending the State Fair this weekend!!

The American Legion HQ staff was busy today out at the South Dakota State Fair. It is Veterans Day! Judy, MaryJo, and their support staff spent the day shuttling veterans around the fair grounds to enjoy the Veterans Day program and other activities.

🏇🇺🇸 That’s a wrap from Louisville!

The 107th National Convention of The American Legion is officially adjourned — and when PDC McDonald and Department Adjutant Van bring down Petey and the South Dakota sign, you know it’s really over! 🐦😄

After a great week of Legion business, national recognition, fellowship and plenty of South Dakota pride, our delegation is packing up and heading home.

Petey is off the perch, the sign is coming down, and South Dakota is officially signing off from Louisville! 🇺🇸🐦

Safe travels, everyone — see you back in South Dakota!

We wish them both a successful year of leadership and service as they represent the American Legion Family across the nation.

Together, the Legion, Auxiliary and Sons of The American Legion continue our shared commitment to veterans, military families, youth and communities.

Department of South Dakota Legionnaires Kevin Hempel and Paul Evenson took the floor to nominate our own Hugh “Homer” Holmes for National Vice Commander of The American Legion.

A special moment as South Dakota proudly put forward one of our own for national leadership.

Congratulations, Homer — South Dakota is behind you! 🇺🇸
