What is the Community Electric Power Committee?
The Waterville Valley Community Power Committee (WV CPC) is working to provide affordable, reliable, and renewable energy—we work to save you money on your electric bill.
With an approved plan from the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission, the WV CPC can negotiate competitive electricity rates and offer residents more choice in their energy sources, including renewables.
Our mission is to empower our neighbors to make informed energy choices, while also allowing flexibility—residents can opt out at any time. The program may also direct savings into a reserve fund for future local energy projects.
A brief history:
• March 2023: Voters approved adopting a Community Power Plan
• 2025: Voters approved establishing a reserve fund for local energy projects and savings
The Selectboard is overseeing a $2,000 allocation to support communication efforts as we prepare for a potential launch. The committee continues to monitor market conditions and will move forward when rates are optimal.
