Please allow us to introduce you to Daffodil Duckerson!

Our library found some splendid items at the Colgate Salvage Event today. But no one made out as well as the library's new desk duck, who has been graced with this mini crown. Once the crown was placed, this suggested name just felt official. But there were many, many excellent recommendations!

Thank you to Colgate University for the work and consideration that goes into the Salvage Event, passing items left behind by students on to non-profit (and similarly) organizations. Thank you to Mid York Library System for arranging for our libraries to attend.

We look forward to putting all of these things to use in our programming, and especially when the Story Yard opens this year! Mud Kitchen here we come! But you can also come visit Daffodil Duckerson any day right at the front desk!

One week from today, Tuesday, May 19th, we encourage all eligbile voters in the Waterville Central School District to head to the Jr/Sr High to vote. Included on the ballot is a proposition for our library's budget. Also included are WPL's two open trustee seats with candidates Debra Olin and Judith Kemp-Barnes.

The Nature Nook is temporarily closed with happy news. Apparently Mama Robin also decided that it has a great view! Her nest is established and we would like to give the family time to safely enter the world.

Please give them space, and enjoy WPL's other outdoor spaces for now (the flowering trees are hitting their prime). If you have curious kids wondering why the birds need some space from humans or other bird facts, come on inside for a minute. We have books for that and more!

We'll still be over here prepping cardboard and other recylables in our usual frugal fashion... but we love when we can enhance programs with guests, special materials, and more!

The Children's Room toys might need an extra nudge this morning after last night's lively Kids Night Out. But we're positive our Story Hour friends are just the kids to help out!

Thank you to all who embraced a dream, took a leap, offered countless hours of dedication to detail, and believed that offering our community a quality library is important! Let's keep that belief going for... how about forever...

Today marks 20 years since the library's dedication on May 7, 2006. Twenty years of connecting, growing, and adapting to the needs of our community. There are troves of photographs, memories, and stories that are a part of this place- and they're growing by the minute.

Build all your library memories up over the next few weeks, and join us in celebrating at the Annual Summer Solstice Celebration on Thursday, June 18th! You all describe this as your favorite event of the year, so what better way to all be together, making new memories while talking about old ones, and savoring the start of another summer together!

There are so many days, weeks, and such to keep track of, but we don't want to let Children's Book Week slip by! A theme of books and curiosity? We love it!

Stop by the Children's Room this month (we're giving you some wiggle room), to explore options to get curious with! From the books that are highlighted on the poster by Grace Lin, to staff and patron favorites, and more. Plus, all you have to do for this Curiosity Club is get curious and then get some books to explore it! In other words, just some interactive fun on your next visit. Kids and kids at heart welcome.
