What about a Saturday stop to gaze at peonies, watch for hummingbirds, and wander among library shelves? Maybe even pick up a few vacation books that can get dog-eared in a bag or sand shifting through the pages on the way out?

Open 11 am - 2 pm on Saturdays inside the library. Gardens and Owen's Nature Trail respectfully open dawn - dusk.

The Summer Solstice Celebration is almost here!
Thursday, June 18th from 7-9 pm (plus stargazing at dark if the weather allows) we'll be celebrating the start of summer, summer reading, the 20th anniversary of the library's 206 White Street building, and just having a good 'ol time.

Come on out for the whole thing or however it works for you. We're just happy to see you!

A beautiful morning to get out for Spring Story Hour!
No matter how your morning goes, we're excited to see you at 11 am for stories, songs, and play!

Whether that morning includes getting out early to run around outside before the heat hits, or rolling in a few minutes late because getting everyone out of the house is its own kind of challenge. Come as you are and join as best fits you.

It's Kids Night Out night!
That wait list is going strong. So if you cannot make it for whatever reason pretty please cancel through the app or give us a call at 315-841-4651 so we can make sure as many kids can enjoy the night as possible!

We'll see the registered crew of kids at 5 pm with your caregiver to sign you in for a night of fun! Dinner will include dino nuggets and corn to get in the mood for this summer's theme, plus pizza thanks to some generous patrons!

The Talking Book and Braille Library have some great summer offerings including the "Unearth a Story" dinosaur theme, including a Wonderbox giveaway for TBBL patrons and a great lineup of webinars.

"WonderBox kits for younger kids (PreK-2) include a braille book about dinosaurs and a small audiobook player with books about dinos preloaded. For kids grades 3-6, the kit includes an audiobook player with a Magic Treehouse title preloaded. "

We know. Summer hasn't even started yet... But sometimes the sales are great, making it more possible to share that "Get One Free" box or to stay within your own food budget. So it's never too early to make sure bellies are full and healthy.

The Waterville area is gratefully one of many where kids can receive a free lunch through most of the summer in connection with summer/recreation programming. But there are those few weeks in August when summer programming stops before school starts again. That means lunch stops too.

So if you find yourself in a position to donate to the Waterville Area Food Pantry this summer, we'll help make collection a bit easier. Drop off donations all summer long to the library during open hours: M-F: 11 am - 6 pm, Sa: 11 am -2 pm.

Please check for expiration dates and aim for foods that can be enjoyed without the need to buy additional ingredients or rely on cooking abilities that families may/may not have.
