Our Story
Many people utilize the McKenzie County Public Library for checking out books, movies and audio books, as well as for job research, tourism questions, distance test proctoring, home schooling resources, and reserving of the Sanford Room for non-profit and civil meetings. Our diverse patronage has increased enormously with the oil boom. People of all ages and backgrounds utilize our facility. We invite you to visit us and we appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thursdays at 11:30 AM during the school year, we hold super fun Story Times for our younger patrons! During the summer, enjoy our Summer Reading Program for all ages! (The program runs from the beginning of June to the middle of July. Preregistration begins at the end of the month of April.) We believe in the importance and education of children. They are far more important than money or oil and deserve to be placed at the forefront as our county grows. Through a united effort of our community, we can help guide them from the very beginning to becoming contributing, responsible and literary adults. The McKenzie County Public Library is dedicated to a continuing effort to encourage our children & youth to read and enhance all their unique and special gifts by "keeping books in their hands!"
