Last night at our May council meeting, we had a busy evening!

Sgt. Ryan Anglin was recognized for his fantastic management and planning for Cops and Bobbers 2026. A commendation well deserved.

We also had an official swearing in welcomed 3 new team members!

Officer Phil Cruz joins us from a neighboring county with a year and a half experience. We are glad to have him join our team, he is starting his field training this week.

Officer Jacalyn Knight is joining us as a part time officer, she will be starting her field training soon. She brings 3 years of experience and we are happy to have her.

Detective Ryan Thomas started last month and has already hit the ground running. He is a veteran law enforcement officer with 17 years of experience including being an instructor. He will be our departments Training Coordinator in addition to his investigative duties.

Watkinsville PD received our new level IV mini shield today thanks to the absolutely wonderful folks at United States Deputy Sheriff's Association!

The USDSA donates equipment to various departments throughout the country at no cost.

This equipment was sorely needed, to protect our officers going into an active threat. It’s small and mobile and can be quickly deployed.

USDSA we cannot thank you enough!
