The U.S. Wildland Fire Service acknowledges reports of an undisclosed wildland firefighting resource operating in remote areas.

Recent trail camera footage from an active incident appears to show an unidentified individual constructing fireline overnight.

Capabilities observed:
• Extensive knowledge of backcountry terrain
• High mobility in steep, rugged conditions
• Above-standard line construction

Tools observed: Pulaski

This resource does not appear in IAPs, check in at ICP, or respond to radio traffic. An investigation is ongoing.

🕘 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Tuesday)

Critical fire weather conditions are expected across our area.

🌬 Southwest winds: 15–25 mph (gusts up to 35 mph)
💧 Relative Humidity: As low as 10%
🌡 Temperatures: Near 80°

These conditions mean any fire that starts could spread rapidly and become dangerous very quickly.

🔥 Outdoor burning is NOT recommended.
🔥 Avoid activities that could create sparks.
🔥 Secure trailer chains and properly discard ci******es.

If you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately. Early reporting makes a huge difference in stopping wildfires before they grow.

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Red Flag
Warning for increased fire danger, which is in effect from 9 AM
to 8 PM CST Tuesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in
effect.

* WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Up to 80.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.

All Blaine County Fire Departments will initiate a “WAR DAY” (Wide Area Response) on January 16, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Due to the heightened risk of rapidly spreading wildfires, firefighting units will be strategically deployed throughout the county. This proactive measure aims to ensure a swift response to emerging fires, thereby protecting lives and property.
