During Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, we at PVPSA want to highlight the importance of connection, conversation, and knowing when to reach out for support.

For our youth especially, having someone you can confide in makes all the difference. Whether that be a friend, parent, teacher, counselor, or a trusted person in your life. It is crucial to create a space where people can feel heard and supported.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text the Su***de & Crisis Hotline (available 24/7) at 988.

This September, we at PVPSA are proud to stand alongside members of our community who are working towards a healthier future and celebrate their progress.

Let's continue to create a community where families and youth are provided with the connection, opportunities and resources needed to move forward.

Recovery looks different for everyone, but help is always welcomed and support is always accessible.

On International Overdose Awareness Day, we take the time to honor those whose lives have been lost, and support friends, family, and neighbors who have been impacted by overdose.

We can all play a role in helping - by listening without judgment, supporting recovery, and sharing resources. Together, we can help save lives.

If you or someone you know is struggling with substance use, call 800-662-HELP (4357) or reach out to us at PVPSA at 831-728-6445.

Today, PVPSA hosted our annual All-Staff Back-to-School Training!

Each year, we come together to reconnect, learn, and prepare as our teams get ready to return to local schools and support students, families, and our school partners throughout the new school year.

Since 1991, PVPSA has been a steadfast leader and provider of childrenโ€™s behavioral health services in the Pajaro Valley. And our staff is the community we serve. Many of our staff attended PVUSD and other local schools themselves, and today, many are raising children who attend those same schools. Our connection to this community is it is at the heart of how we show up for children and families every day.

PVPSA is also proud to be a workforce development agency, helping prepare the next generation of professionals who will care for our community. Through training, mentorship, and clinical supervision, we support emerging clinicians, community health workers, and others entering the behavioral health and public health fields, building a workforce that understands, reflects, and is deeply connected to the communities it serves.

We are incredibly proud of this team and the heart, dedication, lived experience, and expertise they bring to this work every day.

As we begin another school year, we are reminded of why this work matters: our children and youth are our communityโ€™s most important and valuable resource. Investing in their well-being, mental health, and future is an investment in the future of the entire Pajaro Valley. โค๏ธ
