Strong northwest winds, gusting to 35 mph at times, and lower dew points will move into the region today behind a cold front. Even behind the cold front, afternoon high temperatures will remain above normal. The combination of the windy conditions, dry low levels, and warm temperatures will lead to another afternoon featuring critical fire weather conditions. A Red Flag Warning has been posted from 11 am to 8 pm for areas north of Interstate 40 and west of a Vinita to Muskogee line. Avoid intentional outdoor burning and other activities that may cause sparks and inadvertent fire starts.
