On Monday, June 1, 2026, the Florida Legislature will convene for a Special Session to consider a constitutional amendment that could significantly reduce future property taxes for Florida homeowners.
Our office is evaluating the proposed property tax changes and actively following the legislative process. We understand that many Hardee County property owners may have questions. It is our objective to ensure that you remain properly informed.
At this time, no immediate changes have been made, and the proposal remains under consideration as discussions continue. If this proposal passes in the legislature, Florida voters will make the final decision and a constitutional amendment will appear on the ballot in November.
