Our schools serve students from Clive, Urbandale, Waukee, and West Des Moines, as well as open enrollment students from other communities outside the 55 square miles of our district boundaries.

Here's what Jessica had to say about her daughter's year at Waukee CSD Preschool:

Celebrating growth: "The growth we’ve seen has been remarkable. My daughter is developing healthy boundaries and stronger relationships with peers. Her natural curiosity has really flourished. Academically, she can write, spell, identify letters and sounds, count to 100, and has even started reading. It has been incredible to watch her confidence and abilities grow so quickly over the course of the year!"

Ready for kindergarten: "I truly believe my daughter will enter kindergarten feeling capable, confident, and ready to learn. Most importantly, she has developed a genuine love for school, which is something we value deeply."

A strong start: "One of the things I appreciated most is that this program is part of the school district. It provides a strong foundation and helps children become familiar with the structure and expectations they will experience in kindergarten."

Committees at our high school identified the recipients of the 2026 Dluhos-Vavra Scholarship! All recipients plan to study business-related fields in college this fall.

Waukee Northwest High School:
🎓 Avery Walker — University of Iowa for marketing
🎓 Max Ziegemeier — Iowa State University for actuarial science

Waukee High School:
🎓 Sam Burke — University of Iowa for business
🎓 Carter Webb — Dordt University for accounting

Carol Dluhos and Edward Vavra generously endowed Waukee CSD with funds to provide four annual scholarships (in perpetuity). The scholarship program began in 2022.

It's one of our favorite traditions!

At every elementary school, students and staff gather for a clap out for 5th graders as they mark their last moments in elementary school. There are always smiles, hugs, cheers, and a few tears.

Today was also the last day for our first-ever transitional kindergarten (TK) class! Mrs. Ledden at Radiant Elementary organized a graduation ceremony to celebrate her TK students and recognize all the learning, fun, and friendships made this year. They're ready for kindergarten! 🎓
