June is National Safety Month, and our Highway team is performing shouldering work with a motorgrader to help maintain safe road conditions and support proper drainage along Waukesha County roadways.

They saw some pretty moody clouds roll through earlier today. Did you snap a photo? Share your pictures in the comments.

If you see crews working, please slow down, stay alert, and give them plenty of room.

Thank you to our Highway team for their continued dedication to keeping our roads safe!

Chairman Heinrich, Supervisors Howard, Nelson, Gryczka and Gscheidmeier all attended the He**in Task Force Community Partners Meeting. Moving forward they will be called the Substance Use Action Coalition (SUAC) of Waukesha County because currently fentanyl and synthetic opioids are the more serious threat.

Strong communities are built through strong partnerships.

What started as a connection at last fall’s Waukesha County Community Health Partner Summit has grown into a meaningful collaboration between Waukesha County Health & Human Services and Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin.

Pictured are Elizabeth Aldred, Director of Waukesha County Health & Human Services (left), Sarah Anderson, Brand Partnership & Sponsorship Specialist with Versiti (middle), and Ben Jones, Health Officer/Public Health Manager for the Waukesha County Division of Public Health (right).

Together, we're working toward two important goals:

❤️ Helping ensure our community has a safe and reliable blood supply through blood donation.

📊 Gathering community input through the Waukesha County Community Health Survey to help shape local health priorities for years to come.

If you're donating blood with Versiti, consider taking a few minutes during your post-donation recovery time to complete the Community Health Survey. It's a simple way to continue giving back after your donation.

Partnerships like this demonstrate what can happen when organizations come together around a shared commitment to community health.

Donate blood. Share your voice. Help strengthen Waukesha County.
