This Make-A-Will Month, take a meaningful step to care for the people and causes you love.

August is Make-A-Will Month, a reminder that creating a will isn't just about assets or wealth. It's about making your wishes known, easing the burden on loved ones, and providing peace of mind for the future.

Many people think estate planning is only for those with significant wealth or complicated finances. In reality, every adult can benefit from having a plan in place. A will helps ensure your wishes are honored and can reduce uncertainty and stress for family members during a difficult time.

A will is more than a legal document. It's a gift to the people you care about most. By planning ahead, you can provide clarity, comfort, and guidance when it matters most.

For some, legacy planning also includes supporting organizations that reflect their values. Planned gifts help Eras Senior Network continue serving older adults and their families for generations to come.

๐Ÿ’ซThrowback Thursday๐Ÿ’ซ

Today, we remember and honor Barry Kerwin, whose dedication, leadership, and commitment to service helped shape Eras and strengthen support for seniors throughout Waukesha County.

Barry, who recently passed away, served on the Eras Board of Directors from 2002 to 2007 and as Board President in 2005. He also dedicated nearly two decades as an ERAS volunteer from 2002 to 2021, generously sharing his time, talents, and passion for helping others.

One of Barry's lasting contributions was helping guide the merger of Interfaith Senior Programs and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Waukesha County, strengthening volunteer engagement and expanding services for seniors in our community.

A phrase that was especially near and dear to Barry's heart was "neighbors helping neighbors." Many remember him championing that message during discussions about Eras vision and mission. It reflected his deep belief that communities thrive when people support one another.

As we reflect on Barry's legacy following his passing, we are grateful for his years of service, leadership, and vision. His impact continues to be felt through the programs, partnerships, volunteers, and neighbors he helped bring together.

Thank you, Barry, for your lasting example of what it means to be a neighbor helping neighbors. Your legacy lives on. ๐Ÿ’™

Did you know that a portion of the funding Eras receives from city, county and federal sources requires matching funds?

One important way we can help meet this requirement is through the support of dedicated volunteers who drive our vehicles.

By volunteering your time, you're not only helping individuals get where they need to go, you're also helping Eras maximize available funding and expand services in our community.

Ready to make a difference? Learn more about becoming a volunteer driver at https://eras.org/volunteer/become-a-volunteer/ or talk to our Volunteer Team at 414-488-6931.
