Habitat does not give houses away; we believe in giving a hand up, not a hand out. Habitat for Humanity Waukesha - Jefferson - Rock builds decent, affordable homes with families who are unable to purchase a home through traditional methods. By providing a home with an affordable mortgage, homeowners obtain self-sufficiency and break the cycle of poverty. We believe it takes a community to build a
community, so we hope you will join in supporting our mission. Partner families contribute "sweat equity" hours per adult to take the place of a down payment. Volunteers contribute time and talent to reduce labor costs. Our ReStore revenue, sponsorship, and donations help to reduce construction costs. Founded in 1989, Habitat for Humanity Waukesha - Jefferson - Rock has built 66 homes in 35 years. Our long term goal is to build 20 houses a year, complete 30 critical home repairs, and serve 3 different communities by the year 2033! With our expansion into Rock County and our plan to complete 6-10 homes this year, we are well on our way. Our ReStore in Waukesha continues to offer used home building supplies, furniture, and general home goods to promote a sustainable planet and support our mission. With the help of generous donors and supporters we continue to make the dream of home ownership a reality in this community. Habitat WJC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
