Big thanks to our Conservation Specialist, Jayne Jenks, for representing us on The Morning Blend TMJ4 today! 💧💚

Ahead of Wisconsin Stormwater Week (September 19-27), Jayne shared simple ways to help protect water quality, from picking up pet waste to keeping yard debris out of streets and using lawn chemicals responsibly. She also highlighted the county's Adopt-a-Drain volunteer program and invited community members to join her free "Only Rain Down the Drain!" webinar to learn more about the impact they can have on local waterways.

Our parks provide beautiful backdrops for many special moments, from wedding and engagement photos to senior portraits, family photos, and more. We’re grateful that so many professional photographers and videographers choose our parks to capture those memories.

To help us protect these special places while supporting responsible professional use, we’re introducing a $10 annual permit fee for commercial photography and videography.

The permit process:
● Helps us better understand how parks are being used for commercial purposes
● Encourages responsible use of our natural areas

While many professional photographers and videographers are respectful of our park system, we have seen recurring impacts to our natural areas that tell us a little more accountability is needed. This step helps us protect the places that make such beautiful photographs and videos possible. 💚

Glow Skate is BACK at Eble Ice Arena! ⛸️✨

But this isn't your average Glow Skate event; Waukesha County Youth Hockey Association (WCYHA) Girls Hockey is taking over the rink for a special neon-themed night on the ice! Did you know Nashotah Park has a dedicated kayak, canoe, and paddleboard launch site on Forest Lake? A new trail connection and enhanced put-in site make it easier than ever for visitors to get on the water while helping protect the shoreline. 🛶🌿

Accessible from Picnic Area 1, the new red trail features improved steps and a reinforced turf area that provides durable footing and helps reduce erosion from launching and retrieving paddlecrafts.
