The Fox Brook Park concession stand is open for the season, and this year, we've got expanded weekend hours! 🍦🌳

Whether you're spending the day at the beach, enjoying the playground, or relaxing along the shoreline, we've got you covered. Stop by and fuel your next outdoor adventure with a refreshing drink, classic snacks, or our fan-favorite soft-serve ice cream!

The concession stand is open Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday-Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. See you out there!

🌿 We're bringing a little sass to the parks this summer with a new Leave No Trace campaign.

From June through September, look for friendly reminders to:
🐕 Leash dogs and clean up after them
🥾 Stay on marked trails
🗑️ Properly dispose of trash (including pet waste)

Our staff can't be everywhere at once, so we're hoping a little humor goes a long way in encouraging responsible park use and protecting the places we all enjoy. 💚 https://lnt.org/

Thanks for the shout-out Visit Brookfield! We love our Fox River Trail and the Fox Brook Park trail, and we're so excited to see the community enjoying them too. If you're looking to hit the trails this weekend, come check us out!

You may have seen our post last fall about the new entry signs at all our parks, lake accesses, and regional trailheads. Turns out, our team was still working on a couple more for our Waukesha County Golf Courses! 🪧⛳

So, the honor of the final install goes to Naga-Waukee Golf Course.

If you missed the earlier post, our signs (in place since…forever) were deteriorating and got a big refresh. We’re excited to now have the full system complete!

NOTICE to anyone coming to our office IN PERSON to complete a transaction.

Beginning June 29, all visitors to the Waukesha County Courthouse/Administration complex will need to enter through a temporary entrance on the east side of the building. We encourage anyone planning a visit to check ahead, allow extra time, and follow posted signage and staff guidance during the transition.

We have an exciting trail improvement to share with our parks community! ☀️🥾

Last month, park staff at Muskego Park worked alongside our carpenters to build a small boardwalk over a swale along the hiking trail, ensuring users can safely navigate the path regardless of water flow or wet conditions. All materials used to make this bridge were reused from a previous improvement project at Retzer Nature Center.

The essential data collected to help protect our ecosystem starts with you! 🔎🌊 Join our team at Community Science Program: Clams, on July 30 from 1-3 p.m. for a hands-on survey of aquatic life. During this program, you will:

• Learn how scientists study invertebrates
• Assist in monitoring invasive Asian clams to help safeguard our waterways
• Earn eligible volunteer hours while helping your local parks

In honor of National Trails Day, we wanted to highlight something new that's waiting for you on the trail! 🌲🍃🪧

The Discovery Trail at Retzer Nature Center now features five brand-new educational signs, thanks to a grant from Kohl's! The signs highlight the important role native trees play in the health of our environment.

You'll learn how to identify different trees seen along the trail based on key indicators like bark, leaves, and needles. Come enjoy the Discovery Trail and learn a little more about the natural world around us!
