Today, we remember Deputy Michael Geszvain and Sergeant Quin O’Brien, who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to Waukesha County.

On June 21, 1978, during court proceedings at the Waukesha County Courthouse, Deputy Geszvain and Sergeant O’Brien responded courageously in the face of a violent attack. Both were fatally wounded while protecting others in the line of duty.
Deputy Michael Geszvain died on June 21, 1978. Sergeant Quin O’Brien died on June 22, 1978.
Their bravery, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. We honor their memory and remain grateful for their dedication to this community.
