Job Title: Deputy Sheriff I
Position/Status: Full Time/Civil Service Appointment
Starting Wage: $62,236.20 to $71,811.00 annually depending on experience.
Benefits: Iowa Public Employees Retirement System (IPERS), Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation, Holiday and Sick
Allamakee County does offer certified officer's opportunities for lateral transfers.

Lansing and New Albin Law Enforcement Coverage

The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office will provide law enforcement services to the cities of Lansing and New Albin, Iowa effective July 26, 2024 until such time those cities are able to provide law enforcement services through a municipal Police Department.
Residents of Lansing and New Albin should contact the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office at (563) 568-4521 for non-emergency law enforcement calls and dial 911 for all emergencies.

Today, on National Peace Officer Memorial Day we honor and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. In 2024, 282 officers killed in the line of duty were added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC.

Found black dog showed up at the Sheriff's office this morning friendly, blue-green collar. He is being kept safe in the shed.

We would like to wish our 911 Dispatchers at the Allamakee County Sheriff’s E911 Dispatch Center a Happy Public Safety Telecommunictors Week April 14 – 20, 2024. Our 911 Dispatchers are the first call in an emergency to summon help for those in need. They are the calm in the storm, the unseen hero during an emergency response.
We would like to recognize our dispatchers for their dedication and commitment to public safety. Thank you Kerri, Jodi, Millie, Chloe, Glen, Jordyn, Madison, Luke, Laura and Kourtney.
