SO Proud of our KPMS Cougar Band!!
Way to go! 👏👏👏

We are thrilled to announce that the 2026–2027 KPMS Advanced Band has been invited to perform at the prestigious Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA) Conference in Yakima, Washington, in 2027!
This extraordinary honor is a testament to the talent, dedication, and hard work of our student musicians and their director, Ms. Kaal. Their commitment to excellence has earned them the opportunity to showcase their musical achievements on one of the state's most respected stages for music education.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our administrators for their unwavering support of the KPMS music program. Their leadership, encouragement, and belief in the value of arts education have helped create an environment where our students can thrive, grow, and achieve at the highest levels.
This is a remarkable accomplishment for our school community and a historic milestone for Peninsula School District, as KPMS will be the first middle school in the district's history to perform at the WMEA Conference.
Congratulations to our incredible band students, Ms. Kaal, and everyone who has helped make this achievement possible. We are so proud of you!

🎉🎶BIG CONGRATS to our 19 Band students (and 3 Choir students) who represented Peninsula High School and the Commencement Bay region at the WIAA/WMEA State Solo/Ensemble Competition this past weekend at Central Washington University!!

We are SO PHS Proud of every group and soloist who all performed beautifully and received high marks from judges across the board! Almost every performance was awarded an overall “Superior” performance which is the highest rating to be received at the competition! 👏👏👏

Bravo and GO HAWKS! 💚🤍

We had a GREAT time hosting Dr. Ron Gerhardstein, Director of Bands at Pacific Lutheran University for Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony this past Tuesday!

He gave us some fantastic feedback to continue to work on for our upcoming concert in December. Thanks Dr. G! 😊👏
