A set of car keys were found and turned into the Village office after Harvest Fest Weekend. Please contact the office if you are missing keys. 394-5390.

The Village Office does not currently have phone service or internet service. We have contacted our service provider and they are working on a resolution. Thank you for your understanding.

The Village of Wauneta will be spraying for mosquitos in the next few days, weather permitting.
Village staff will begin spraying at approximately 7:30 pm.
The biomist chemical is used safely in Nebraska. However, people should keep windows closed and stay inside during misting operations, especially if they have respiratory problems.

Village staff have sprayed for weeds at the playground areas at the Wauneta Park. Please stay out of the treated area for today, Friday May 29th. Thank you for your cooperation.

Southwest Public Power District will be conducting the second of two planned outages that will affect the city of Wauneta on Thursday, April 23rd, beginning at 8:00AM MDT. The outage is expected to last up to six hours. The contingency date for this outage is Friday, April 24th.
During this outage, SWPPD will work with Watts Electric to restore the original connection to the village substation. This operation will remove the temporary connection that allowed us to rebuild a portion of the normal line that feeds the Wauneta substation.
Updates regarding outage progress can be found on the Southwest Public Power District page, and can also be received via text message. REMINDER - please do not flush wipes down the toilet. The Village sewer lift station was clogged this past weekend due to wipes, which damages the pumps and system. Thank you for your help!
