The Waupaca County Hazmat Team is made up of members from all walks of life. Ever member goes through specialized training and participate in exercises to valid the skills required to perform the tasks to ensure safe and effective responses to actual hazardous emergencies.

The 115th Fighter Wing will be conducting evening training flights Monday through Thursday this week, September 21 - 24, shifting our typical daytime flights to the evening, concluding at approximately 10:00 p.m. This training is required to ensure our Airmen's readiness to operate in all conditions, and we will continue to follow flight paths designed to minimize noise to area residents

{Sep 17, 2026 4 AM} Heavy rain potential has shifted south from Friday afternoon through Saturday across central and east-central Wisconsin, generally south of Marshfield to Appleton. Isolated flash flooding and urban street flooding may occur, so clear drains and check sump pumps.

This is the final week to apply in person at the Disaster Recovery Center located at the New London Public Museum. The official last day to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance is August 31st.

Thunderstorms forming over MN/NW WI later this afternoon are expected to move towards the southeast and could persist into the overnight hours. The primary hazard is damaging winds (70+ mph gusts), but large hail (2 inches), heavy rain, lightning, and isolated tornadoes are all possible.

Initial thunderstorms are expected to remain as isolated cells, but may congeal into a line of storms during the evening. Be sure to have multiple ways to receive warnings, including ways that will wake you up!

The combined Disaster Recovery Center is now open! FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency is on site with U.S. Small Business Administration and other local agencies. Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm and Saturday 10am - 1pm this is located at the New London Public Museum. You can find additional relief information www.disasterassistance.gov

One or two rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening, mainly between 1 and 10PM with the greatest threat between 3 and 8PM. While not every location will see a severe storm the threat is area wide today.
