🚌School Bus Safety Reminder!🚌

School is back in session, which means more school busses and children on our roads! Please slow down and stay alert.

🛑STOP when required
👀Watch carefully for children
⏰Give yourself extra time and slow down in school zones
❤Help our kids get to and from school safely

Deputies and Officers will be out helping keep our students, families, and communities safe. Let's all do our part to make sure very child gets home safely each day.

Please take a moment to read and share the Wisconsin DOT's school bus reminder below! 👇

Slow down... Pay attention... Stop when required... Protect our kids 💙🚌

Sheriff Timothy R. Wilz

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE: As school starts in most Wisconsin districts this week, you’ll start to see more school buses on the roads again. Here’s a reminder of what the different colored lights on a school bus indicate and what you should do if they’re flashing:

🟠Amber Warning Lights: The school bus is about to stop. Slow down and prepare to stop.

🔴Red Warning Lights: Stop at least 20 feet from the bus whether approaching from either direction. The only exception is if you are traveling on the other side of a divided road that’s separated by a median or other physical barrier.

🏍️🇺🇸 Honored to Support Our Veterans! 🇺🇸🏍️

Saturday was a great day to be out supporting a great organization!

We had the opportunity to help provide some traffic control and safe passage through a couple of busy intersections as the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association WI 45-3 (CMVA) made their way through Waupaca County on an organized motorcycle ride.

We were also honored to receive this awesome plaque from the group, which we have proudly hung in our office! 🏆

We’re proud to support the mission of CVMA and the work they do to raise awareness and provide support for Veterans care facilities and charities. The work they do to continue supporting our Veterans is something we truly appreciate.

Thank you to CVMA Chapter 45-3 for letting us be a small part of your ride, for the work you do for our veterans, and for this very thoughtful plaque.

We’re proud to support you and even prouder to support those who have served our country. 🇺🇸

🚸🍎✏️Back to School Safety! ✏️🍎🚸

It’s hard to believe another school year is here!

As students, families, teachers and school staff head back to school, we want to remind everyone to slow down, stay alert, and watch out for one another. 🫶

AND because going back to school doesn’t have to be all serious… some of our deputies and staff had a little fun putting together a “Most Likely to…” video! We had a great time showing off some of the personalities behind the badge and hope it gives everyone a reason to smile as we kick off another school year.

We wish all of our students, teachers, families, and school staff a safe, successful and exciting school year! 💙

Slow down… stay alert… look out for our kids… and don’t forget to have a little fun along the way! 🔆

We had an absolute blast at Cones with Cops last night! 🍦🐾🚔

A couple of our deputies and their K9 partners had a great time getting out, meeting folks, and enjoying some time with our community. Huge thanks to the Iola-Scandinavia Chamber for hosting a great event and Shivers LLC for the incredible ice cream for the kids!

Of course, the K9s would like it officially noted that they too believe they earned an ice cream cone..... We’re pretty sure “working dog” should come with an ice cream allowance. 😂🐶🍦

Events like this are a great reminder of how important it is to get out, connect, and enjoy time together in the communities we serve. We’re grateful for the opportunity to be there and even more grateful for the people who make our communities such great places to be!

Thanks again for having us!
