Today, we pause to honor the men and women who run toward emergencies when others run away — our first responders.

To the police officers, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, emergency dispatchers, corrections officers, hospital emergency teams, and so many others who serve on the front lines: Thank you!

You are the steady voice in chaos, the calm in crisis, and the helping hands when people need them most. Your courage is quiet and constant — seen in long nights, quick decisions, and the sacrifices you and your families make every day.

Here in Waupun, we are incredibly proud of the dedicated professionals and volunteers who serve our community with compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment.

Dr. Hill will be at the playoff football game tomorrow night handing out free 🍿 popcorn coupons to anyone that "pops" in to say 👋 hi or chat! There are a limited number of coupons and they must be used at tomorrow night's football game, as it's the last home game of the season. 😊 Hope to see you there! 🖤💛🏈

🎓🔥 Supporting the Next Generation of Fire Service Leaders! 🔥🎓

On Monday night, members of the Waupun Fire & Rescue Department had the honor of presenting a scholarship check to Firefighter/EMR Cade Hartgerink, who is currently in his second year of fire school.

Cade continues to show incredible dedication — balancing his studies, fire and EMS service, and countless hours of training. His commitment to learning and serving others reflects the very heart of what the fire service stands for.

This opportunity was made possible through the Ron Beer Memorial Scholarship. Ron was a long-time member of the Waupun Fire Department, retiring as Assistant Chief in 1998. Upon his passing, the Beer family created this scholarship as a way of supporting individuals pursuing a career in the fire service. We are grateful to the Beer family for the opportunity this scholarship offers to the next generation of firefighters.
